Self Defense For All Ages

The average person in a threatening situation faced by a bad person who intends harm – freezes. “What do I do?” fills the mind, and the body waits for an answer.  Don’t wait for an answer. Don’t freeze. Training in self-defense helps the mind and body to respond automatically to defend against an attack, without delay in those first critical moments. None of us ever want to be in that situation, but knowing how to respond – to protect yourself and your loved ones – could make all the difference.  For all ages, all fitness and skill levels.

Sifu Slaughter's Approach to Self-Defense

The self-defense strategies and tactics we teach are based on the Northern Shaolin system of kung fu and tai chi.  This system focuses on using an opponent’s force against him by using circular movements to redirect the force and attack the opponent’s weak points, instead of directly meeting force with force. Most importantly, our philosophy of self-defense focuses on avoiding aggression by being aware of your surroundings, recognizing danger signs, and responding without physical force.  We teach that the use of physical force should always be a last resort, and that avoiding aggression is the best way to prevail in any confrontation.
